'Vanities' to Open Later in Season
A new musical adaptation of the hit play Vanities is delaying its scheduled February 26 opening citing effects of the current economic downturn, producers said. New preview and opening dates and a theater have not been announced.
"The production is being rescheduled for later this season out of responsibility to the investors at this complicated economic time, which makes it very hard to support a new musical on Broadway," lead producer Sue Frost said in a statement.
The musical tells the story of three friends from the '60s through the '80s covering their high school, college, and adult years. It was to have opened at the Lyceum Theater.
