The strong reception of the musical Hair this summer in Central Park's Delacorte Theater, spurred the Public Theater to launch a Broadway version with previews set to begin in February.

According to a New York Times article, because of challenges raising the $6.5 million capitalization, a new producer will be brought on board in a significant role.

Sources told the Times that the show is still on track and will be fully funded.
