Two-Week Encore for 'Pal Joey'
The Roundabout Theatre Company's got to be savoring this. Pal Joey, a revival of the classic Rodgers and Hart musical from 1940, is extending its run two weeks until March 1.
The show made my "Best of . . ." list, but it received mixed reviews and was the subject of a lot of chat-room sniping.
This is one of those "judge for yourself" shows. Matthew Risch stepped into the lead role at the last minute, replacing Christian Hoff, and I thought he made a great Joey, and Martha Plimpton was outstanding. If you can see it, see it.
