O&M just released an official statement saying that co-writer and director Julie Taymor of the $65,000,000 theatrical money-pit, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, will in fact be leaving the active creative team. With the official opening now delayed to "early summer 2011," the scheduling conflicts Taymor's previous engagements.
The release goes on to say, "Philip William McKinley and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa have joined the creative team to help implement new staging and book rewrites, respectively." Look for more news to come out in the upcoming days and weeks about the break and OSHA fines. Until then, it looks like Justin Moran won the bet with The Spidey Project.
