Not the best way to open a show on Broadway, the new show Baby, It's You! is already having legal issues. According to the New York Times:
"Lawyers representing Dionne Warwick, Chuck Jackson and Beverly Lee, a founding member of the girl group the Shirelles, as well as the estates of Doris Coley Jackson and Addie Harris McFadden, both founding members of that group, filed suit against the producers of "Baby It's You!," saying their names, likenesses and life stories are being depicted without their consent."
The one show about a woman succeeding in a man's world, and it gets a legal battle as a thank you. Hopefully, the producers can work through this and not let the message of the work get lost.
