'Rent' Off-Broadway

Rent shines once again on the Off-Broadway stage after more than a decade on Broadway and on national tour.

The Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Rent has returned to its Off-Broadway roots with some of its original creative team in tow. Helmed by its original director Michael Greif, Larry Keigwin is the choreographer with Tim Weil as the Music Supervisor.

True to the Bohemian vibe of the show, the producers once again took to open casting calls to fill the roles made famous by then-unknowns Adam Pascal, Anthony Rapp, Idina Menzel, Taye Diggs, and Jesse L. Martin. The current cast includes Annaleigh Ashford, Adam Chanler-Berat, Matt Shingledecker, Arianda Fernandez, and Corbin Reid.

Rent will have its official Opening Night August 11, 2011, at the industrial-inspired New World Stages at 340 W. 50th Street. Tickets can be purchased through the website.
