The Book of Mormon won't be the only holy ticket in town this Broadway season.
Today, it was announced that the La Jolla Playhouse's production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Jesus Christ Superstar will make a return to the Great White Way in the Spring. The production received rave reviews on the West Coast and had people talking about a possible revival in New York. No word yet on casting, though the show may play at the Neil Simon Theatre.
This Fall will also see the Broadway revival of Stephen Schwartz's Godspell, re-envisioned for the 21st century by director Daniel Goldstein. Godspell begins Previews October 13, 2011, at the Circle in the Square Theatre.
