'Ghost' to Replace 'Priscilla,' 'Memphis,' or 'Addams Family'?

Announcements confirm that the London sensation, Ghost the Musical, will indeed cross the pond to Broadway. But possibly at the expense of a currently running show.

Producers had said the West End production of Ghost the Musical would run in London with its cast until October 2012. Now, word has it that some cast members will make the transfer when the Academy Award-winning movie-turned-musical opens on Broadway in April 2012 -- just in time for Tony Award eligibility.

Ghost will play at a Nederlander theatre, and possibly in one of the theatres currently home to Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Memphis, or The Addams Family.  Both Memphis and Addams Family opened in time for the Tonys last year -- with Memphis winning Best Musical; and Priscilla winning Best Costumes this year. Producers may look to trim the fat as these shows begin their national tours.
