Everyone's favorite curmudgeon will make her Broadway debut in the current revival of Annie the Musical.

Emmy Award-winning tyrant Jane Lynch, who appears as the evil cheerleading coach "Sue Sylvester" on "Glee," will appear as "Miss Hannigan" in Annie the Musical for a limited engagement from Thursday, May 16, through Sunday, July 14, 2013.

Lynch is a veteran of Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre Company and The Second City, but has never appeared on Broadway until this opportunity came along. According to Lynch:

"Some may say I know a thing or two about playing intimidating authority figures. So I am excited and honored to be making my Broadway debut with the wonderful Annie company at the Palace Theatre and joining the pantheon of women who have taken on the great and irresistible role of wicked 'Miss Hannigan.'"

The current Miss Hannigan, two-time Tony Award winner Katie Finneran, will be leaving the production at a date to be announced to begin work on a new NBC comedy series with television star Michael J. Fox, currently seen on "The Good Wife."
