Theater Company Seeks Full Time Development Manager

Thursday March 10, 2005
The Theater Offensive, New England’s leading LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) theater company, seeks a super-organized, detail oriented, charming and outgoing communicator for a full-time Development Manager position. The largest project of the year will involve all aspects of successfully mounting a signature fundraising party. Other major responsibilities will include direct mail fundraising, major donor relations, creating new fundraising and cultivation events, solidifying relations with foundations, developing corporate donors, and coordinating efforts with program and marketing staff. The Development Manager is supervised by the Artistic Director and works closely with other Staff (including a grant writer), top-notch development consultants, and a dynamic Development Committee, as well as supervising development interns. Responsibilities include a great deal of face-to-face, phone, written and electronic communication along with data systems management and other occasional duties such as directly assisting the Artistic Director.

Qualifications include a Masters Degree in Arts Administration (or equivalent experience) and at least two years of work in non-profit development, including event management. Experience with databases and spreadsheets is essential. Delightfully persuasive, outgoing and firmly diplomatic personalities are a plus. LGBT people of color and women are strongly encouraged to apply. Compensation for the position is competitive. Fairly flexible schedule includes some evenings. Interviews will begin in mid-March.
