The majority of her technical experience is in stage management, as she has managed over twenty productions for Irondale; non-Irondale productions include Iago's Plot, which was performed at The Cairo International Experimental Theatre Festival in Eqypt, and Two Noble Brothers, produced by Cornerstone Theater in association with the New York Shakespeare Festival/Public Theater at Seward Park High School in New York City. Maria is also involved with the Network of Ensemble Theaters, a consortium of North America's permanent ensemble companies committed to preserving and passing on the legacy of the ensemble theater movement.
Education:
Maria has a BA in theater from West Chester University, a small liberal arts college in Pennsylvania. She also holds an MFA in theater from Maryland's Towson University.
From Maria Knapp:
Theater has always been a part of my life. I think theater is not only entertainment, but also has the power to transform our way of looking at the world. I love what I do and am excited to share it with you.
