101 Words About This Show:

After a 1987 opening, Perfect Crime has run more than 20 years. With over 8,700 performances (and counting), it sets a record every time the curtain goes up as off-Broadway's longest-running show.

The show centers on one week in one room in a home in a high-end Connecticut enclave.

Psychiatrist Margaret Thorne Brent is on the cusp of Dr. Phil-like celebrity, but a secret from her past threatens to derail it. She plays bizarre psychological games with her husband and a fragile patient. All the while, the local police inspector, a handsome under-achiever, is interested both in Margaret and whatever it is she’s hiding.

Who’s Who and What’s What:

Perfect Crime stars Catherine Russell, who has missed only four of the thousands of performances of this drawing-room mystery. The show is worth watching to see her make history. Additionally, the inspector is played by Richard Shoberg, whom many will recognize from his long-running role of Tom Cudahy on All My Children.
