Off-Off Broadway
There are probably more Off-Off Broadway shows, than Broadway or Off-Broadway combined. This is where some really exciting cutting-edge productions happen. Since most of these productions tend to run a short time, many for just a weekend, I won't be able to list everything playing. Instead, I will focus on making sure that Off-Off-Broadway venues are listed. Each venue will be able to tell you what is playing at any given time. I will also try to list the current productions that I think are most fascinating.

HERE is located at 145 6th Ave (Between Spring and Broome. I think it's a really nice space. It has three theaters, a small cafe, and two galleries which are used for art exhibitions and special events. it is clean, easy to find and comfortable.

La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club (La Mama E.T.C.) is located at 74A East 4th St between 2nd Ave and The Bowery, which houses three theaters, "The First Floor Theatre", "The Club" and "The Annex", an art gallery, a 7-story rehearsal/studio building, and a extensive archive documenting the history of off-off Broadway theatre.

PS 122 is a (surprise) converted school located on 1st Avenue at 9th Street with two theatres that present programs of dance, performance, music, film, and video. Spalding Grey was a regular here.

St. Ann's Warehouse
St. Ann's Warehouse is located in Brooklyn at 38 Water Street and the corner of Dock Street. (This is in DUMBO.) St. Ann's has several spaces and has hosted such notable artists as Laurie Anderson, The Wooster Group and Al Pacino.

Theater for the New City
Theater for the New City is located on First Avenue between 9th and 10th Streets. It's an old converted marketplace housing 3 theaters and a cabaret space. Certain aspects of TNC can be rough, but over the past few years they have been renovating it, including a concession area.
