'Hair' – From the '60s to Central Park to Broadway

From , former About.com Guide

101 Words About This Show :

Hair erupted onto the musical theater scene in 1967 with an anti-war message, rough language from the street, and that famous nude scene.

Hair was revived in summer 2008 by The Public Theater in Central Park to great acclaim. Critics found that its message had new relevance. Now, that version will transfer for another Broadway run at the Hirschfeld Theatre opening March 5.

Hair not only created the “rock musical,” but it also produced many songs that have become part of the pop landscape, such as “Age of Aquarius,” “Easy to Be Hard,” “Good Morning Starshine,” and, of course, “Hair.”
