In Next to Normal, a Broadway musical where a housewife struggles with her battle with bipolar disorder, which resulted from a trauma many years earlier. Meanwhile, her husband strives for family stability as his wife decides to stop taking her medication.

Directed by the Michael Grief, who brought us Rent, Next to Normal features book and lyric by Brian Yorkey and music by Tom Kitt. Kitt wrote the music for High Fidelity.
