The new comedy Dead Accounts hits the boards of Broadway this Fall 2012, set to explore the inner dynamics of a dysfunctional family and a man who suddenly comes in to $27 million. Starring Tony Award winner Norbert Leo Butz and Katie Holmes, Dead Accounts just might be a dead funny guarantee hit.
Dead Accounts tells the tale of "Jack" who hits a jackpot of money, but he returns home with questions not answers for his life. His sister, "Lorna" suspects something is up, especially when Jack's wife is missing. The family is thrown for a tailspin as Dead Accounts tackles the timely topics of corporate greed and family values.
Dead Accounts begins Previews on Saturday, November 3, 2012, with its official Opening Night set for Thursday, November 29, 2012, at the Music Box Theatre located at 239 West 45th Street.
This production also stars Katie Holmes, Judy Greer, Josh Hamilton, and two-time Tony Award nominee Jayne Houdyshell, for Follies and Well.
Dead Accounts is a new comedy play by Theresa Rebeck, playwright of Seminar who was a Pulitzer Prize finalist for co-writing Omnium Gatherum. Rebeck is also the mastermind behind NBC hit musical drama "SMASH."
Behind the scenes, the creative team includes five-time Scenic Design Tony Award nominee David Rockwell, five-time Tony Award-winning Costume Designer Catherine Zuber, Lighting Designer David Weiner, and Sound Designer Mark Bennett, who also contributes original music to this production.Dead Accounts is produced on Broadway by Jeffrey Finn, John N. Hart Jr., David Mirvish, Amy Nauiokas, Ergo Entertainment, Harriet Newman Leve, Double Gemini Productions, and The Shubert Organization.
Beginning December 3, 2012, the regular performance schedule will be Tuesday and Thursday at 7:00 p.m.; Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at 8:00 p.m.; with matinee performances on Wednesday and Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and Sunday at 3:00 p.m.
