Time Stands Still stars Laura Linney and musical theatre star Brian d’Arcy James as husband and wife journalists, “Sarah” and “James.” The show also features Eric Bogosian and Christina Ricci, who first rose to fame playing “Wednesday” in the film version of The Addams Family.


Time Stands Still is a comedy that examines “Sarah” and “James’” relationship as they face a hum-drum, conventional existence after living adrenaline-driven, purpose-filled lives as journalists covering various wars and conflicts.

The show had an extended initial run at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre, closing on a happy note. Surprising everyone, the producers resuscitated Time Stands Still after being deluged with award nominations including Tonys, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and the Drama League. The producers re-opened the show at the Cort Theatre, where it will conclude its second extended run on January 30, 2011.
