The 2011 Drama League Awards will be the 77th Annual award ceremony celebrating Broadway and Off-Broadway productions. The Drama League Awards are the oldest theatrical award in the U.S., and are voted upon by the theatre audience.

The 2011 Nominees for Distinguished Production of a Play include Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo, The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity, Other Desert Cities, The Motherfu**ker With the Hat, and Good People. For Distinguished Production of a Musical, some of the noms are The Book of Mormon, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, and Primary Stages’ In Transit.

In the Revival categories, the play nominees include The Little Foxes, The Merchant of Venice, and Arcadia, with Anything Goes, How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying, and Off-Broadway’s Hello Again rounding out the nominations for musical revival.

Special awards will go to Liza Minnelli for the Award for Distinguished Achievement in Musical Theatre, director Susan Stroman for the Julia Hansen Award for Excellence in Directing, and Whoopi Goldberg for the Unique Contribution to the Theatre prize.

The award ceremony will be held May 20th at the Marriott Marquis, hosted by High's Kathleen Turner.
